Tall Books Views
[...] Next to Marvele’s big news today, the best revelation coming out of SDCC for me so far is the announcement that Jeff Smith is going to do more Bone books. And, in case you were wondering what these new series will look like, Smith has the cover art up for Tall Tales and a rough for Quest for the Spark over at his Web site. [...]
This is really the best news of Comic-con for me! The Quest For The Spark Trilogy looks like it will be an amazing read. I mean Skyships and Rat Monsters? Now theres a marraige made in heaven! IC’m also thrilled about Tall Tales. Between these and Rasl continuing to be one of the best books on the shelf at the moment it makes me proud to be a fan of Jeffs!
Tall Tales is one of my son's favorite bookstores. He loves the children's section and so do I. The best part is that the staff actually knows the books when I try to describe them. remembered a story I read when I was little and the only words I could remember were that this man and his machine built stuff t"neat and squares". Most bookstores (Think big chain stores) just looked up l"neat and square and of course nothing came up. One of the girls who was working in the kids section of Tall tales, however said she was not certain but she thought the story was Mike Mulligan and his steam shovel. They were able to find the book and now it is one of my son's favorites. The biggest difference I see between them and the larger stores is summed up by this example. They really know thier merchandise and are more than willing to help. For the adults - they do carry all the new books and have a good selection - our main draw, however, is the kids section!
This is the perfect little bookshop around the corner, a huge contrast to giants like Borders and Barnes and Noble. Tall Tales carries new books and offers a wide variety for both adults and children. If you need a recommendation, the staff is more than happy to help - bookworms themselves, somebody has nearly always just finished something new and is glad to share! The children's section is set up to accomodate small people, and has room for kids to browse, sit, and read while parents make their own selection. Tall Tales also holds author readings and book celebrations throughout the year, so there's plenty of activities to attend.
