The Wheel Of Time Book Views
I've not read any of the WOT series, but I've read Brandon Sanderson's other books - Elantris and the Mistborn series. I can say without a single reservation that all 4 of those books are fantastic, and I'm quite certain that Mr. Sanderson will become one of the premier fantasy authors of my time. If I didn't have to slog through 11 other books to get to it, I'd probably read this book just because Sanderson wrote it.
Finished it earlier this week. It's made me want to back and re-read them all again. I'd rate this one as one of my favorite Wheel of Time books to date.I love that certain characters have a tendency to sniff in this book. I don't know why but it always felt like Mr Sanderson was winking at me when that happened.@Brian - I agree that Mat felt a little off but I wasn't totally horrified by it. Let the crazy theories begin and bring on the final two.
Because of his health problems, Jordan did not work at full force on the final installment A Memory of Light (later split into three volumes beginning with The Gathering Storm), but blog entries confirmed that he continued work on it until his death, and he shared all of the significant plot details with his family not long before he died.[13] He maintained that in doing so the book will get published even if the worst actually happens. [14] On December 7, 2007, Tor Books announced that Brandon Sanderson had been chosen to finish the Wheel of Time series. Jordan's widow chose him after reading Mistborn: The Final Empire.[15]
Jordan mentioned several times that he planned another fantasy series set in a different kind of world. He said that it would be a ShÅgun-esque series about a man in his 30s who is shipwrecked in an unknown culture which would be similar to Seanchan culture in his Wheel of Time series[20] and world. The books would detail his adventures there, and would have been titled Infinity of Heaven.[21]
