Tim Mccreight Views
Tim McCreight was born in 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended The College of Wooster from 1969 to 1973 and received a BA degree in sculpture under Sufi Ahmed. After Wooster, he graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1975, receiving a MFA in jewelry and metalsmithing under Harold Hasselschwert and Chuck Evans.[2]
Tim McCreight is a metalsmith, designer, author, and teacher. He received a BA from the College of Wooster in 1973 and an MFA from Bowling Green State University in 1975. He taught for twelve years at the Center for Crafts in Worcester, Massachusetts, and for the next fifteen years at Maine College of Art in Portland.
Tim McCreight is a metalsmith, designer, author, and teacher. He has been working in metals since 1970 and along the way has published two dozen books and made six videos. He is a Past-President of SNAG, and has served on the boards of Haystack, the American Craft Council and the PMC Guild. He has taught workshops in the U.S., England, Canada, Mexico, Norway, and Japan. He writes for several magazines and runs a publishing company in Maine called Brynmorgen Press.
Tim McCreight Perhaps one of the first artists in the U.S. to use Precious Metal Clay reg; and a consultant for the Mitsubishi Materials Corporation (makers of PMC), Tim has worked extensively with the material for nine years. He has written numerous books mdash;including The Complete Metalsmith and Working with Precious Metal Clayhmdash;several publication articles and scores of reviews. Over the last two decades, Tim has taught more than 60 workshops, participated in more than 100 exhibitions, and performed a number of lectures all over the country. He is the past president of the Society of North American Goldsmiths and a former professor and department head at Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. Today he continues to teach metalsmithing all over the country.
