Duracoat Gun Coating Views
Will DuraCoat burn off my barrel? DuraCoat can withstand temperatures as high has 500-600 degrees F. With s"normalt" shooting, your barrel will never get close to being that hot. If you are fortunate enough to own a transferable machine gun, or if you like to r"blazer" with your semi-auto, do not put DuraCoat on your barrel, as your barrel temperature will rise to over 1,000 degrees F. In those cases, use DuraHeat. Our DuraHeat coating can handle temperatures up to 1,800 degrees F.
Keep in mind this is an EDC knife, and it is clipped into the top of my pants, under the belt at a diagonal towards my gun (not my weapon - d"this is my weapon, this is my gun, this is for fighting and this is for funt" - Full Metal Jacket). The wear on this is totally within the acceptable range for myself, infact the coating that benchmade put on the clip was wearing in the same exact place, so what can you expect from the duracoat?
