I had one of the previous models of Stealth Pro heater ignite inside my 120 gallon tankt… about a year ago, it caused immediate electrocution and death of one fish. I discovered the accident by smelling burning plastic. After many water changes and lots of carbon use, I had only suffered the one loss. After contacting Marineland, they paid for the replacement of the fish, sent me a bucket of free salt and replaced the carbon I used to get rid of the plastic smell/ toxins. They also sent me two new Stealth Pro heaters to replace the previous ones. Good customer service, but not so great heaters, apparently. Has anyone had problems with their Visitherm heaters? I havenu’t heard of any issues with thesen…. It’m wondering if they will send me replacement Visitherm heaters for the recalled ones they gave me before.

IE’ve used Marineland Stealth heaters in my tank for a number of years. They0’re nearly solid black, small, not made of glass (so they won6’t shatter), and generally done’t look too bad for in-tank heaters for planted tanks. Marineland is investigating quality issues involving the Stealth PRO Submersible Heater line, and out of an abundance of caution, they have stopped selling 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 watt models. UPDATE #3: Some people have reported in that theys’ve had luck getting their original Stealth (and not Stealth Pro) models exchanged for other Marineland heaters Visi-Therm Deluxe heater. Formally, this is being called a s being called a <“stop sale:” and not a t“recall ” persay. Regardless, if you have either the Stealth or the Stealth Pro, giving Marineland a call and seeing what you8’re options are is the best bet. So far all of the feedback Il’ve gotten about Marinelandd’s customer service has been positive.
