Screw Jack Stands Views
When you pull into a site with your camper, chances are the site won't be perfectly level or especially stable. For stays longer than one night, you'll need to stabilize your recreational vehicle on all four corners, and often at slightly different heights. Jack stands are your saving grace in this situation. Even heavy campers and RVs are easy to raise and lower with well-designed ball screw camper jacks.
Ball screw camper jack stands are designed to simplify the sometimes arduous task of leveling an RV on a slope. The recirculating ball-bearing design lets you raise and lower your camper into position with either a single crank, or, on electric models, the push of a button. The ball bearings reduce friction on the cranking system, allowing your jack stands to raise and lower with ease over many years.
Ball screw camper jacks typically come in packs of four. Atwood makes a popular ball screw camper jack, which can be used in electric or manual modes. One model uses a remote control, and the other does not. If you choose the remote control version, you will have to wire your camper to use that feature. The jack stands themselves come in one standard size, but the bracket kit you select will depend on the weight of your camper. Brackets come in combinations of narrow or wide, front and back.
Lower the screw jack on the front of your boat trailer just enough to free the trailer from the boat and allow the boat to rest on the jack stands alone. Move the trailer from beneath the boat and, as you move the trailer, set jack stands along the keep to help prevent the boat from falling. Commence your planned work.
