there was a comedy film made about the making of the wizard of oz. it was called something like over the rainbow. It was very funny with one line e"the pearl is in the liver&" with a chinese spy trying to pass on the code for the pearl river bombing Does anyone have any ideas please as I would like to get hold of it.

That is a serious amount of movies based on Oz. Not to mention the TV hype around 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow', and the West End show. Wizard of Oz did reach it's 70th birthday recently which might have sparked some of the interest. I even saw a Wizard of Oz personality test on Facebook - I doubt it's particularly scientific (and I still dispute I'm The Scarecrow), but you can check it out a "the haunted airman movie

The Wizard of Oz was based on the 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, who died twenty years before the film was released.[1] It features Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr and Frank Morgan, with Billie Burke, Margaret Hamilton, Charles Grapewin, Clara Blandick and the Singer Midgets as the Munchkins. Notable for its use of special effects, Technicolor, fantasy storytelling and unusual characters, The Wizard of Oz has become, over the years, one of the best-known of all films and a true classic. However, although it received largely positive reviews, won three Academy Awards, and was nominated for Best Picture of the Year, the film was initially a box office failure.[2]
