As you are aware there is a large selection of types of molds to use when making candles. The materials to choose from include Aluminum, Silicon, Polyurethane, Tin and one of our favorites, Polycarbonate. In most instances each type of material has specific applications that work best in candle making. The aluminum molds are always good for standard size pillars such as 3 x 3

The differences you can get when pouring into clear Polycarbonate molds versus other materials can't be over emphasized. You can achieve a very nice sheen to any candle without having to provide a water bath. The finish and release is truly remarkable plus these molds are clear. Some of the new shapes and sizes include a heart, a star and a maple leaf.

Try some of our Polycarbonate votive cups/molds! Our polycarbonate votive cups were designed with special pedestals on the bottom of them to help prevent counter surfaces from getting too hot. These molds produce 1.75 oz. votives which have a burn time of approximately 10 hours. Polycarbonate allows votives to set up faster, and provides a glossier finish than metal molds. You can use these as attractive votive holders, or as molds. Spray molds with Pam cooking spray to help wax release. BUY MORE AND SAVE!!

Mold materials & mold design: Polycarbonate allows the use of a variety of mold materials such as wood, filled and unfilled polyesters, epoxiers and metals. Molds for vacuum forming need only 14 psi, so there is little wear on the tooling due to the low pressure of the material against the mold surface. Use of standard mold design practices and mold materials should be observed.
