Andy Narell Little Secrets Views
Little Secrets was composed by the American steelpan virtuoso, Andy Narell, and was recorded on his 1989 album, Little Secrets, as the title tune. Little Secrets is a beautiful and lyrical original composition for the steelpan that moves between a standard 4/4 time signature for the verse and an off-beat 5/4 time signature for the intro and chorus. After a short bridge, the tune transforms into a solid 4/4 latin-inspired melody and groove, and then, opens up into a nice solo section over the same groove and chord changes. This arrangement respects Narelltrs"s original recording while providing every instrument in the steelband a unique and important voice. Although the tune itself is very accessible, it is also very sophisticated in its phrasing, and extremely rich in its chordal structure & orchestration.Difficulty: Medium (great for high school and college steel bands)Instrumentation: tenor/double tenor/double seconds/cello/bass/drum set/percussion
