Brazilian Girls Album Views
Brazilian Girls is the first album by Brazilian Girls. It was released on February 1, 2005 by Verve Records. The album mixes a number of different musical styles, from reggae to samba and house to acid jazz, as well as many different languages, as lead singer Sabina Sciubba goes from English to French, Italian, German and Spanish.
Smooth, Sexy, Nuveau....I had never heard of the Brazilian Girls before and this past Saturday they performed at Fashion Cares which is a huge fashion show and music spectacular. The Brazilian Girls happen to be one of the performing bands. I was captivated by the lead singer. Her presence on stage was so entracing. Her voice unique. I knew I had to go and get the album immediately. I did. Oh and am I glad I did. The album ranges from sexy trip hop with smooth lush electronic sounds and sexy yet humorous vocals to songs I would expect to hear while sitting in a cafe on a paris street. The album is fun, catchy and well produced. This is some high calibre production. I really hope they come out with another album. The lead singer sounds like a cross between Annie Lennox and Bjork...Very interesting voice.Submitted by action=userouser=258911&cart=1178664858 rel= nofollow dchypnotherapist (Toronto, On, Canada)Was This Review Helpful? Undeniably coolMusically, Brazilian Girls seem like a combination of trip-hop, reggae, lounge and a million types of world music that I don't even know. There are lyrics in a few different languages on this record. If you really want to describe them though, think about some really exclusive club where the most attractive people hang out...this is what's playing when you walk in. The album's content is sexy and sensual but with a good sense of humor about it. The whole thing has a very relaxed and fun vibe. The singer's voice is very breathy and beautiful and full of attitude. The bass is prominent and sounds great rattling the floor of my apartment. This band is really a cut above anything I've heard in awhile, I say this album is a must.Submitted by wreckssseverything (Baltimore, MD, USA)Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
The latest from Brazilian Girls, ."New York City F" hits the shelves today, the name of their third album finally cues you into where they really come from. Like other work from Brazilian Girls this album promises unordinary deep lyrics accompanied by the surreal party beats. My first Brazilian Girls experience was their remake to the great Pablo Neruda
