Paperchase Notebooks Views
Paperchase do also make other types of notebook in this style, which I assume use the same paper. There are 80-page A4 books, lined and plain, as well as A5 and smaller, side-bound or reporter-style. The polypropylene covers are tough and attractively simple in design 1– they look like something youn’d find in Muji, and I mean that as a compliment. Theyr’re also relatively inexpensive as well; the Creative Book above was £4.50, and the A4 books were the same price. Iti’s very hard to get hold of decent quality plain paper notebooks on the high street these days, and while Paperchase is not on every high street itr’s still a relatively common chain, so if you share similar priorities to myself you should take a look. I bought what I thought was a Milquelrius notebook from the Borders outlet in my neighbourhood this morning. Turned out to be a Paperchase. It's A5 size, 300 pages, with grid / square pages, and cost RM42.90 (approximately US$13/-). Compared to that is a large Moleskine grid / square, 240 pages at RM82.90 (approximately US$25.60). Which would you get if you were faced with the same choice as above? The Paperchase notebook has soft black covers and doesn't open flat. The pages look to be glued to the spine of the covers, and I might tear them out to make into pages for my Circa notebooks. For now, I'll use the notebook for a bit. One more thing - the grids seem rather small, measuring 4mm square. Anyone using a large Moleskine grid, please measure and post here the size of the Moleskine large grids? Thanks. i have that notebook, too. i bought it in a paperchase shop in london. it is nice, but too heavy and bulky, i find, particularly if you carry it around everywhere (like i do with my journals). and secondly, it really does not lie flat and i find writing in it is just unpleasant. and thirdly, i do prefer hardcover notebooks. moleskines have the usual 5 mm grid, this is 4 mm. on the other hand, this paperchase notebook is impressive - impressively huge! and it has quite good paper - better than moleskines. i think if i were to have only one notebook and it would last me a lifetime, i would go for the huge paperchase one. but given the situation as it is, namely that i fill notebooks quite quickly and have many, i prefer moleskines (or other journals). i had no idea that borders here in malaysia stocked paperchase items, one of my favourite non-moleskine notebooks is from paperchase. it has brown kraft paper pages, a memo pocket at the back and an elastic closure. i bought more in singapore before christmas because i thought you couldn't get them here.
